The train travels North through Bernheim Forest and the Jim Beam distillery property to Limestone Springs and back.

The trip is a 32-mile round trip excursion. Lunch and dinner excursions are approximately 2 ½ hours. Special children’s excursions are available, these excursions last approximately 1 ½ hours. Other special excursions, such as the Murder Mystery excursions, vary between 2 ½ and 3 hours in length.

The train stops in Limestone Springs where the engines run around the train to pull it back. Passengers are not permitted to disembark the train at this time.

Children ages 5 and older are permitted to ride during the lunch & dinner excursions. They may also attend murder mystery excursions and some special events.
In late fall and winter we offer a North Pole Express excursion, which is open to all ages. Please visit our special events calendar to view the dates and times of these additional excursions.

Children’s menu choices, for ages 5 through 12, are offered at a reduced price. They can be found on the Menu beneath the full price entree options.

The Dinner Train & Depot are non-smoking. Electronic cigarettes and vaporizers are also not permitted.

Reservations are required and payment must be made in advance. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover; checks can be mailed to My Old Kentucky Dinner Train at 602 N. Third Street, Bardstown, KY 40004.

All of our tables seat four as in the tradition of railroad dining. Private seating may be purchased for an additional fee. Details are available during checkout.

Full bar service is available on the train during all excursions. Additionally, bar service is offered in the train depot prior to excursions (Monday – Saturday).

The final price you are given includes the meal, all non-alcoholic beverages, excursion and tax. Gratuity and cocktails are not included.

No outside food or beverages are permitted. However, cakes are available for purchase as well as other upgrades such as flower arrangements and premium appetizers.

Tickets can be picked up at the ticket counter in the train depot at 602 North Third Street in Bardstown, Kentucky. Tickets are available for pickup one hour before train departure time. Boarding will also take place at this location.

For attire, My Old Kentucky Dinner Train requires dressy casual dress. For women, reasonable length skirts/dresses, full length trousers combined with a dress shirt, polo or sweater set are acceptable. For men, collared dress shirts, golf polo’s or sweaters paired with dress slacks, khakis or nice dress shorts are acceptable. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train adheres to these standards, and we ask that you please come appropriately dressed for our fine dining excursions.

They are theater productions that are performed on the train by professional actors during the dinner excursion. Passengers may participate in the production if they wish. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train regularly schedules excursions on Fridays and Saturdays. Schedules change seasonally, and some special excursions are offered on other days. Private excursions may be scheduled on weekdays as well. Please see our calendar for current excursion dates and times.

All of our tables seat four as in the tradition of railroad dining. Parties of five are seated three at one table and two at the table directly across the aisle. Parties of six are seated four at one table and two directly across the aisle. In both of the above cases there is a chance a party of two will be seated with the remaining party of two. In the case of seven we sit four at one table and three directly across from them.

We offer full refunds up to 14 calendar days before the excursion date. Tickets are non-refundable when the excursion date is 13 days away or fewer. Tickets may be rescheduled for a later date or transferred to a gift certificate. Rescheduled excursions are non-refundable and gift certificates are non-refundable. Reschedules or transfers beyond 48 hours prior to the reserved excursion are subject to a 35% rebooking fee.

Gift certificates (also referred to as gift cards) are valid for five (5) years from the date of purchase.

Children’s tickets are for ages 3-12 and ages 2 if they will sit in their own seat and/or eat their own meal. Children two and under who will sit on an adult’s lap and eat from an adult’s plate during the excursion can bypass purchasing a ticket.
