At this time, we do not have a definitive re-opening date. We plan to reopen as soon as we feel it is in the best interest of our employees, patrons, and community, and sincerely look forward to that time.

Once we have a definitive re-opening date, we will allow new reservations to be made on our website or by calling into our reservations line.

We will update our website and Facebook page as well as send an email notification to our distribution list every three weeks. If you would like to be notified of updates via email, sign up for the distribution list here.

Until we announce a reopening date, each planned excursion will be canceled two weeks prior to their date, and refunds will automatically be issued to customers at that time. If you would like to cancel your reservation and request an immediate refund, email your request to [email protected] and it will be processed as soon as practicable.

All gift certificates are valid five (5) years from date of issuance. If you need an extension beyond this date due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please reach out to us at 502-348-7300.

The train travels North through Bernheim Forest and the Jim Beam distillery property to Limestone Springs and back.

The trip is a 37-mile round trip excursion. Lunch and dinner excursions are approximately 2 ½ hours. Special children’s excursions are available, these excursions last approximately 1 ½ hours. Other special excursions, such as the Murder Mystery excursions, vary between 2 ½ and 3 hours in length.

The train stops in Limestone Springs where the engines run around the train to pull it back. Passengers are not permitted to disembark the train at this time.

Children ages 5 and older are permitted to ride during the lunch & dinner excursions. They may also attend murder mystery excursions and some special events. Additionally, we offer special children’s excursions that are open to all ages, such as North Pole Express. Please visit our special events calendar to view the dates and times of these additional excursions.

Children’s menu choices, for ages 5 through 12, are offered at a reduced price. They can be found on the Menu beneath the full price entree options.

The Dinner Train & Depot are non-smoking. Electronic cigarettes and vaporizers are also not permitted.

Reservations are required and payment must be made in advance. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover; checks can be mailed to My Old Kentucky Dinner Train at 602 N. Third Street, Bardstown, KY 40004.

All of our tables seat four as in the tradition of railroad dining. Private seating may be purchased for an additional fee. Details are available during checkout.
COVID-19 update: We will be implementing the appropriate social distancing, and will not seat parties with separate parties.

Full bar service is available on the train during all excursions. Additionally, bar service is offered in the train depot Monday through Saturday.

The final price you are given includes the meal, all non-alcoholic beverages, excursion and tax. Gratuity and cocktails are not included.

Tickets can be picked up at the ticket counter in the train depot at 602 North Third Street in Bardstown, Kentucky. Tickets are available for pickup one hour before train departure time. Boarding will also take place at this location.

For attire, My Old Kentucky Dinner Train requires dressy casual dress.For women, reasonable length skirts/dresses, full length trousers or nice denim jeans combined with a dress shirt, polo or sweater set are acceptable. For men, collared dress shirts, golf polo’s or sweaters paired with dress slacks, khakis or nice dress shorts are acceptable. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train adheres to these standards, and we ask that you please come appropriately dressed for our fine dining excursions.

They are theater productions that are performed on the train by professional actors during the dinner excursion. Passengers may participate in the production if they wish. Murder Mysteries are offered several times throughout the year. Please visit our special events calendar to see the upcoming dates and times for these events.

All of our tables seat four as in the tradition of railroad dining. Parties of five are seated three at one table and two at the table directly across the aisle. Parties of six are seated four at one table and two directly across the aisle. In both of the above cases there is a chance a party of two will be seated with the remaining party of two.In the case of seven we sit four at one table and three directly across from them.

We offer refunds, minus a $5 per person cancellation fee plus relevant taxes and fees, for excursions cancelled at least 72 hours before scheduled excursion. For cancellations within 72 hours, the tickets are not eligible for a refund. We do however offer to reschedule within 3 months of original excursion. We also offer flexible rescheduling for COVID-19 related cancellations.

Gift certificates (also referred to as gift cards) are valid for five years from date of issuance.

Safety is and has always been our priority. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train has implemented the following to ensure we offer a safe environment for our patrons:
1. An enhanced cleaning protocol and check system, adhering to the standards set by the CDC and FDA.
2. An enhanced hygiene protocol for all team members, including the use of masks at all times, and gloves when appropriate, while serving and interacting with guests.
3. COVID specific guidelines and training for our team members.
4. Health checks for team members; any employees exhibiting any symptoms will not work.
5. Increased signage and spacing in common areas in the Depot, such as the gift shop, bar, dining tables in Depot, and check-in station to comply with social distancing guidelines.
6. Seating all parties at least 6’ apart on the train cars, and not seating any parties together that did not book together.
7. Reducing capacities on train cars and in the Depot.
8. Updated Terms & Conditions for our guests. While patrons exhibiting symptoms will not be allowed to attend, we offer flexible rescheduling at no additional charge.
9. Asking for feedback: if there are concerns you have or improvements you think we could make, we would love to hear them! You may always ask to speak to a Manager onsite to address any questions, concerns, or suggestions.
